Baritone Silviu-Alexandru Mihăilă has a remarkable professional experience, proven on important stages inside the country and abroad.
In 2011, after completing his high school studies at the “George Enescu” National College of Music in Bucharest, Silviu obtained a merit scholarship to complete his Bachelor’s Degree at the prestigious Royal Northern College of Music in Great Britain, studies were completed with Bachelor of Music, with HONORS distinction. Later, he graduated with a Master’s Degree from the National University of Music in Bucharest, with the distinction “Summa cum laude”. Silviu received professional guidance from personalities such as baritone Jean-Philippe Lafont, sopranos Mariana Nicolesco, Leontina Văduva, Bianca Luigia Manoleanu, Liliana Dumitrache tenor Ionel Voineag, bassist Sir John Tomlinson, baritone Mark Oswald, artistic director Anda Tabacaru and pianists Alexandru Petrovici, Julius Drake and Alina Pavalache.
He has been awarded at national and international singing competitions such as: The International Grand Prix of Romania “Trophaeum Artis Cantorum”, 2019 edition (First Prize and Special Prize “George Enescu”), Romanian National Lied Competition organized by soprano Mariana Nicolesco (First Prize), the competitions “Frederic Cox”, “Ionel Perlea”, “Victor Giuleanu”, “George Georgescu”, “Dinu Lipatti”, etc.
At TMA you can see Silviu in the title role in the show “Figaro Style”, adaptation for children after the opera “The Barber of Seville” by Gioachino Rossini, as well as in the roles of the Emperor, Sultan and Chief of Thieves from the musical “Fool and Tandala”, adaptation of the famous romanian archaic stories, or in that of the White Emperor from the musical “Însir’te Mărgărite”, adapted from Victor Eftimiu.
